  • New Arrivals for the Tiniest Shelf

The lab has a full slate of work queued up for 2026 and beyond, keeping us awfully busy with builds. But nothing can stop our primal hunt for beautiful, unique cathode-ray tube devices to rescue from destruction!

Today’s theme is compact. Check out these newly arrived devices, just waiting to become Oscilloclocks:

    DuMont 301-A Oscillograph

A technological masterpiece from DuMont! Using the best miniaturization techniques 1953 had to offer, this model is compact and light-weight, but full of features.

A whopping 23 tubes and 3″ CRT are packed in by interleaving tubes from both sides, with a hinged panel for easy access!

We propose an external conversion to keep the innards intact, and allow the grateful owner to slide out the chassis to show off the construction and back-lit tubes. It would be unforgettable!

    Heathkit HO-10 Monitor Scope

This incredibly compact unit from the mid-1960’s measures just 28 x 19 x 13cm and is in fantastic physical condition. We’ll convert this to an Oscilloclock for your shelf or desk — we guarantee you’ll never run out of distractions!

But don’t be fooled by the size — it’s got electron tubes through-and-through! And with such a sleek high-visibility mesh panel top, we’d install LED back-lighting to keep this ultimate mellow feel-good look.
